Hosting over 192 countries, the Expo 2020 is the largest event to ever be held in the Middle East.


The purpose of the Expo is to give governments a platform to connect minds, create futures and celebrate human ingenuity.

There are 3 sub-themes at Expo 2020:

- Opportunity: How we drive capital

- Mobility: How we move

- Sustainability: How we ensure a perpetual planet




There are 192 pavilions with each country showcasing their past, present and future to the world, each expressed in their unique way. As you enter through the mobility gate you are welcomed by Alif - a UAE pavilion showcasing mobility. Alif combined art and technology to express a powerful journey of the UAE from the original settlers through to the movement of data to space travel in the future. Australia used interactive videos to demonstrate their natural and human capital and how that translates into knowledge and economic opportunity. Germany is showcasing their sustainability initiatives through interactive gamification allowing understanding for all ages. These are just a few examples of the outstanding innovation which can be seen at the event.





The Expo 2020 will be held in Dubai over the next 6 months (1 October to 2021 to 31 March 2022). It is an incredible journey with innovative experiences - it can be described as a "a Disneyland for ingenuity".

A month-long bidding process concluded last week for a spaceship ride with Jeff Bezos on the Blue Origin’s maiden voyage next month.





The auction opened with live phone bids and reached US$20 million in the first 4 minutes. The bidding closed after 7 minutes and was sold at US$ 28 million to an Ultra High Net Worth Individual whose identity is undisclosed.


Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft will embark on its voyage on 20 July this year in the efforts to eventually commercialize space travel.


In a video prior to the auction, Bezos exclaimed that "To see the earth from space, changes you. It changes your relationship with this planet, with humanity,"


Blue Origin have not yet shared their pricing strategy however with 3 entities racing to commercialize space travel, Rueters claimed that passengers may expect to pay approximately US$200,000 per ticket.
